Back into the swing of things. Feels good!
Now that I’ve finished some very late-night reading of the RSS 2.0 specification, it’s time for sleep.
Vincent Ritter, introducing Sublime Feed makes a point that feels like it was just for me:
There is also no concept of “unread”. I donβt need that in my life… and I know some of you do. I think having an unread count isnβt healthy. Each time you load up your feed itβs a snapshot of this very moment in time and you can just pick and choose. I think itβs easy enough to remember the post you just read and move onto the other.
I agree with this, mostly. Given that I’ve given up on remembering every little thing, Sublime Feed will be a place in which I will only read my favourites.

It took me far too long once I got the second clue. Still waking up!
Either my ears are weird or some people are literally watching different versions of movies because I can hear the dialogue.

Ouch.
I don’t think the Micro.blog community is any better off if we’re unwilling to say what we mean. Given my position of relative privilege β my life as a carer makes this status somewhat complicated β I am more than happy to be explicit about this.
For this I will rarely use short posts.
Finished a (too) late night with a deeply satisfying task: re-developing the TIL roadmap. The first part of Orchid was, by necessity, weighty. To fulfil my goals with the programme future updates will contain fewer changes.
The primary benefit is that I’ll quickly make improvements.
Fixed iCloud (as best as I could) and have now switched TIL over to relying on Dropbox for basic active sync.
What a waste of time. Thanks, Apple.
There’s a story about Apple geofencing browser development β as part of their nonsense with the EU β and I have not been able to quickly find full proof of the claims being made against the company.
Still, that the claim even has a chance of being realistic reflects a sad state of affairs.
One of my favourite parts of the Micro.blog platform is book recommendations. I hope the UX for saving these to your own lists continues to improve.
Very happy to have previously decided to leave any heavy topics away from short posts.
I have repeatedly taken replies in the MB timeline and turned them into longer posts, and it turns out that was literally my brain reminding me that no good thought fits into 300 characters or less.
This was my quickest solving of Cross|word by far. Feels pretty good.
