I miss @smokey a lot. With that in mind, I’m going to return to posting @monday recommendations and begin publishing another of his regular posts: “Unpublished Drafts”.
Unpaid, but productive.
β Anna Havron, absolutely fucking nailing it.
For those people who are gainfully employed; remember the power you have, for which some of us can only wish.
TIL Hugo Conf is a thing.
Very happy to see Ludovico Einaudi at NPR’s tiny desk π΅
I love the choral moments from The Lord of the Rings soundtracks…
β Holly Honeychurch, Planets I on Bandcamp
Same. Those moments have been a welcome accompaniment along various paths, especially in my younger years.
Crabulo.us is the best new social network I’ve seen. 10/10 would recommend
Look @manton I found a way for you to use SwiftUI π
I use iA Writer for writing @TIL. It is the core of text creation for the entire project.
So… uh, that iA Writer 6 is out(!) and now includes wikilinks? Well that makes my current publishing break that much more timely π€―
(also: autocompletion for hashtags π)
One of things I’m working on for @TIL 2.0 is making the site easier to use. Better access via breadcrumbs, linked pages, etc.
I’m starting to see just how many websites don’t do this sort of thing at all. Most navigation seems to be built around “We want to funnel you to X.”
It’s a shame the live edition of The Talk Show won’t be streamed. That would have been an enjoyable late-night viewing.
Since there’s a new pin for WWDC, I’ll take this opportunity to share the Pins guide I wrote for TIL… all pins barring the newest are listed therein.
The feed for guides, along with other post types and special filters can be found on the About page.
The new issue of ICYMI is ready to go. Will be released in approximately 6 minutes.
Fixed a handful of bugs this morning, little things that no one notices and bigger things like push notifications and Webmentions broken for the last few days. Think I need to dedicate June to just working on stability.

That work has been apparent to me. π
I don’t like this thing and will now quit it, and then later fail to stop myself from going back to it, before again complaining and quitting.
β The Internet, every year.
I remember @jack once said “Don’t tell me what you’re quitting, show me what you’re doing next.” π―
This week’s issue of ICYMI is ready to go and will be sent in approximately 91 minutes. π¨
Have some stirring Einaudi to start your day :)
I was going to post something in a vague and sarcastic manner, then I decided against that idea.
Instead, back to work on @TIL 2.0.
Oh, also, yesterday I had a thought about a way to implement post-threading on Micro.blog.
I think of quoting in blogging as a social feature, in a good way.
As such today’s Tip on TIL regarding manual quoting, along with a few as of late, have been placed into the Social filter. You can find the feed for those posts, and other filters on the About page.
When I’m using the Micro.blog scheduler for @TIL, I feel like I’m having a good day.
I don’t understand it, or why you would do it. Maybe one day I will do it, but I don’t see that. I don’t understand why you would want to tell other people, people you don’t know, what is good or not so good in the moment.
β Jurgen Klopp on why he “doesn’t do social media”
Nice work, Dunfermline π
“New post on launch” is a phenomenal feature in @gluon. Mix with “Focus mode” and you have a brilliant app.
