Be constructive, be helpful, be kind. Make your blog posts not too long, not too short, not too stream-of-consciousness and not too terse. Remember your elementary writing classes. Have a thesis, make your argument, restate your thesis.
Compared to hosting your own blog and auto-posting it to Micro.blog, which won’t cost you and won’t make Micro.blog any revenue, posting for a hosted blog seems to decrease your ownership.
Note: Self-hosting actually costs a lot.

Feels super great to be punished for an accidental tap. What an amazing OS. 😐
We can’t make a headline feature from WWDC work on time but here’s a firmware update for a product we no longer sell.
– Apple, August 2018
One of the changes it made was to stop third-parties from being able to post to Facebook as the logged-in user.
Facebook’s change to the cross-posting API kicked in for Twitter; they have now fucked up by deleting thousands of cross-posted posts.

When @macgenie talks about the Microblog Academy all I want in the world is for there to be a beta of the Micro.blog platform and that is the name Manton chooses. AND WE GET A STAR TREK UNIFORM-INSPIRED PIN UPON BEING ACCEPTED INTO THE BETA. BEST IDEA OR VERY BEST IDEA?
Not only do I agree with @cheri’s suggestion for photo labelling in Micro.blog, I think it’s important for the implementation to go beyond basic functionality. I believe Micro.blog users ought to be prompted to add a label to their photograph.
Micro.blog is not an attempt to duplicate or replace Twitter.

The sooner we displace Twitter values as default values, the better. Reject the notion they did anything well and start afresh.
A woman mentioning her period shouldn’t be such huge news
– Danielle Rowley, a Scottish Labour MP
The existence of period poverty in my country is a damning indictment of where we are as a society.
Don’t eat the paper.
– a white woman to Patti Labelle
We white people have an overflow of rank stupidity mixed with pure nastiness. Such vile behaviour.

We haven’t yet had the in depth sessions, but the even Platform State of the Union is ripe with half-truths + empty stats that serve them.
Huh, they didn’t include that in the keynote.
