I wonder if @gruber has seen the latest pop-up based bullshit from Medium. Coercing people to create an account with “Hey, you’ve come back to us so let’s make it official.” and other such phrasing is bad enough but to push it via pop-up is gross.

I am full of 👏 for the beginning to this week’s atp. Siracusa on fire.

Started planning out my site’s move from WordPress Hosted to a self-hosted option. Seem to be settling on Sunday as the likely day for this kind of work, planning and such.

Are there Superb Owls? Is that tonight?

Recent talk about web feeds inspired me to edit my Feeds page. It’ll be improved, hopefully with something that is useful to more people much like the Now page idea.

Subscribing to newsletters in Feedbin is my new favourite thing. Thanks for mentioning that, @belle. 👍

If the web is a river, Micro.blog is water, where Twitter and Facebook are dams.

Understanding that Micro.blog is not an attempt to replace Twitter feature-for-feature is the key to understanding the whole idea.

International Correspondence Writing Month looks like a lot of fun. Typically, I am in the midst of a move. (via @jw)

It’s good to see Apple clarifying HomePod audio but as @ismh says, the confusion is unnecessary. Hopefully it’s just down to this being a new product category.

If there’s one thing I always enjoy about Apple events it’s the new music. Right now I’m listening to Keep On Lovin' (feat. Seinabo Sey) by MagnusTheMagnus. 🎵

Being restricted to an iPod Classic and iTunes for Windows as my means for podcast listening has been… uh, eye-opening.

I see a number of people talk about “I’m not sure if Micro.blog can replace Twitter”, whether they mean for themselves as a direct replacement or from an objective POV where it becomes huge or significant. Honestly, I don’t think this is the point at all. Let Twitter be Twitter.

The only thing I have to say about Discovery at the moment is that I’ve never been more proud of local boy Jason Isaacs. 🖖 (I mean, for all sorts of different reasons.😎)

I’m still thinking about Patriot. The pace of each episode is careful, one of the reasons it continues to resonate. 📺

Jason Kottke writes about Jade Hameister in A woman’s place is at the South Pole

Reminder: if you’re spending any time making shitty comments on YouTube then you are wasting your life. Jade’s phenomenal burn reveals the stark contrast between her and those assholes.

Is HomePod a failure yet? Did anybody check? WON’T SOMEBODY MAKE SURE THAT CUPERTINO STILL EXISTS.

LP - Muddy Waters [Audio]

I keep coming back to this song. It just hooks into my mind somehow, you know, in a good way.
