What would happen if we didn’t tweet?
— Leon Paternoster, Just step sideways round this grubby world
… I’m a private person … I think if you do something and it turns out pretty good then you should go do something else wonderful, and not dwell on it too long… just figure out what’s next.
I believe that our interactions online should be worth something, should be more meaningful than metrics and anonymous validation.
I subscribed to Kermode & Mayo’s Take quicker than any other podcast.
Issue 11 of ICYMI is scheduled for release. If you subscribe now you’ll get all of last week’s 14 posts and the accompanying notes.
There’s one more post set to be published this evening, and that’s the end of the week for @TIL. With 14 posts it feels good to say that activity has resumed.
I’m looking forward to next week: the full set of regular posts and some updates.
Next goal: a full month of posts.
Flickr are putting more features behind the Pro membership and further limiting free accounts.
I am ok with this, since the platform is only going to survive it if can become sustainable in more of the way of modern, paid services, and less of the way of older ad-based services.
Continental Europe successful synchronisation with Ukraine and Moldova power systems
Excellent news.
We had to speed up by more than 1 year!
Real people getting important work done, with none of the glory this accomplishment surely justifies.
There’s a major update to Nova, mostly because the folks at Panic clearly knew that @vincent needed to be tested by a distraction 😂
The Themes and Plugins Panel from yesterday is great. Loved seeing a well-deserved mention for @custom.
Glass for iPad looks pretty damn good
The list of strong reasons for replacing the device I sold (to help fund the move) is only growing.
Also, how cool is to see the folks at Glass outline the significant updates they’ve made in the 6 months since launch.
Made the mistake of watching a few minutes of this video on the new iMac in 4K 60FPS HDR… and now I really want a PS5 and compliant TV 😬
I mean, you could just talk.

Specifically, as a space to convene and discuss serious issues? We’re past time for everybody to stop pretending like that’s a good idea.
Middle Earth | Rivendell - Music & Ambience
More time travel. Only now I have something to accompany me whilst working on @TIL.
Doug Theme Live - Fred Newman and Dan Sawyer
Time travel is real.
What is Avatar? – David Chen saves you a web search.
One of my favourite Micro.bloggers returned and I totally missed it:
See London through the eyes of Robert Brook.
Update for @TIL: full return next week.
Also:
Would it be good if there was a Facebook page for TIL, which functioned as a resource to help people see Facebook alternatives?
Or does this kind of thing already exist? Even if it does already exist, would it be good to have more?
We’re Thinking About Facebook Wrong
Hank Green with 20 minutes that are worth your time.
I feel like there was something I wanted to communicate about the seemingly illusory nature of human identity, the criteria we use to decide when someone no longer gets our empathy, how little we actually know about each other, especially online…
New Kid on the Blog
Great to see Micro.blog included in the yearly review from Ulysses. This was included in their newsletter.
It would be good to see the Micro.blog team do this. Not even weekly; just something to help highlight events and the like.
Published another batch of updates for TIL earlier on, including a new post type and filter.
The most fun was redesigning the posts footer, including category buttons:
Thanks to @amit for his code and to @frostedechoes for sharing said code!
