The updated Micro.blog homepage is brilliant. Great job, @jean, @vincent, and @manton!

I’ve increasingly made use of the word “publishing” whenever I talk about actions we take on the web, especially those in full public view.
I believe the word “post” or [Insert Brand Name Here] strips our actions of their meaning and removes the intentionality inherent within.

TIL about Whoop and now I know that I definitely lack any interest in getting a new Apple Watch.
A fitness tracker without the screen and screen-based computing? Yes please.
I enjoyed reading the first week of Jason Becker’s new project, “Letters”. I’m already excited about the notion of this type of project spreading throughout Micro.blog.
Tiffany White has organised a fundraiser, having been left in a bad situation thanks to… well, the world really. Let’s help her get back on her feet!
Good luck, Tiffany. ๐ช
As well as the 2.7 release of the Mac app today, there are a couple of other very nice touches to Micro.blog. Auto-linking usernames will hopefully now involve fewer people using workarounds.
Enjoyed Andy Nicolaides’ post Being An Introvert. I’m unsure if I would call myself an introvert, however much of what Andy has written here feels familiar.
Jamie Thingelstad’s post On Audience Capture is well worth a read. This is a good example as to why he is one of my favourite writers here on Micro.blog.
We didnโt buy Flickr because we thought it was an amazing business opportunityโit was losing staggering amounts of money, and nobody else seemed interested in the potential.

This foundation is a very good thing. Long overdue.
Judging by the number of people using omg.lol in this conversation alone I’ve gone from maybe covering it for @TIL at some point to definitely covering it sooner rather than later.
Delighted to have seen Adam’s work progress so well over the past year.
Maybe I’m hopelessly naive, or too generous towards developers but the Release notes section of the Flickr blog looks pretty good to me, specifically in light of where the platform had been before it was bought by SmugMug.
Some of the criticism in this thread is quite harsh.
Anyways, dozens, and all with their unique handwriting. And today, for whatever reason, that was all I was focusing on, each unique handwriting. In my mind, I was like, “what typeface would that one be called?”
โ Gaby, What’s your typeface?
A great question to ask.
Indiekit is firmly of the opinion that everyone should be able to enjoy the full benefits of independent web publishing.

Excited as this is going to help me properly host my own site for the first time.
For the past four days I have marked the beginning and end of my day by writing in my journal. This is the first time I have ever done so.
Five days ago Patrick Rhone wrote about Journal Day, on The Cramped. I did not partake on that day, however I know I will next year. ๐
Work for @TIL 2.0 continues and I am looking forward to talking about it closer to the release date. This includes details about my delayed progress (hint: it’s been a summer).
Meanwhile, I have updated the Funding page with links, information, and improved language.
I’m watching and listening to Terry Grier and Page Weber talk. Their conversation has me thinking about how much better I feel about what very online people call “The Old Way”.
Yes, I want my phone to be a phone.
Yes, I want my computer to be a computer.
That’s enough.
Just discovered Nero’s Notes and now I’m really in trouble. Further down the rabbit hole I go… ๐
Nice one, Tim ๐
I love the website for Sandwich.
I’ve just started using the new Pinned Profiles feature in @gluon and it is another great example of why it is the best full Micro.blog app.
