Had a fun, short chat with @jean, @jsonbecker, and @check during Jean’s first “office hours”. One of the things we talked about was feature requests and community involvement, and as a result I’m going to share a couple of links to my blog:

It’s weird how we classify books; children’s fiction, crime, history, etc. As if you’re only interested in a certain book because it has been sorted into an arbitrary type and then judged accordingly.
I understand that’s how capitalism likes to do things but it’s still odd.
I enjoy the individual style of people’s writing. I have zero interest in what is produced after the robot has “fixed it” for you.
It was time for an upgrade.
And for scale:
A new Rothfuss novella being announced for later this year is phenomenal news. :D
Got my Gluon Green t-shirt on for day two of Micro Camp 😎
My gravestone will read:
He tried to update his blog.
I just needed to add a keyboard shortcut to a Drafts action and it was ridiculously easy. Such a good app.
Day one of Micro Camp was brilliant — looking forward to day two!
Enjoying the photography chat at @camp. Interesting discussion about how much we “take photos” or we “create photos”, what we do and don’t carry with us, and more!
So nice to be at Micro Camp without the stress of moving and other such big problems 😌
Micro Camp time!
TIL a brilliant new word.
Today is Jamaica Blue Mountain day. 😌
Every now and then I’ll think about the third episode of The Last of Us and have to just stop what I’m doing for a moment.
Getting so excited about Micro Camp that the thought appeared of making an early announcement regarding updates to TIL… and then I remembered to take a breath and wait for the right moment. Which is to say; when it is ready and not a minute before.
And… breathe. 😌
Since the accessibility-focused update to Discover has now been made, there is no better time for folks using iOS to try out Mimi Uploader by Sam Grover.
@samgrover is constantly improving the app and I can think of no greater endorsement than the fact that our very own @maique relies on it. 📷
Photos are a different story. A single photo with no text can convey a lot that others might appreciate… if they can see the photo.

A very good first step for assertive improvements to accessibility on Micro.blog.
Got proper sleep for the first time in far too long. Currently cleaning and tidying three rooms simultaneously whilst catching up on Micro.blog replies and working on TIL.
Sleep is medicine.

Twenty years ago people were talking on the web about how we need to be better; to be kinder; to remember that there is a person on the other end of the words you read.
It was a problem then. It is a problem now. This is about the truth of our species, and we’ve only just begun at this scale.
Role-playing games truly are a cultural phenomenon. They’ve played a significant role in helping me realise just how terrible and inhumane it is to commit violence of any kind, let alone the type of casual murder that is promoted by the likes of mainstream D&D.
