@manton I think your own view is spot-on; there will be more platforms similar to Micro.blog (obviously there's decentralised stuff but I'm thinking also of options like 10Centuries) and this will be part of an ever-growing return of blogs as, at the very least, a substantial part of the web.

I noticed recently Twitter has been rolling out more and more features that you had already released, and generally ideas we've seen from the IndieWeb and the like. With the re-growth of blogging culture, I honestly think some parts of silo social media will improve technically and there's a chance everybody will finally become much better at compartmentalisation, at putting those silos in their place.
