@hjertnes I agree with this entirely and have known it thanks to being a tech enthusiast (and maybe more as of next year). There is no reasonable way to expect this of the average customer, who are neither developers nor enthusiasts.

We should all also be telling this to these tech companies and their marketing departments since they are the ones yelling at everybody about their amazing new updates. Whilst I'm at it, there are also some developers who have a bad influence by preparing their updates for the big OS upgrades; this is prevalant in the Apple community for sure. I wonder if developers can help by not getting involved with the "big update" hype?
