@chirpycora URLs aren't included, that's a bug with the character counter. One way I get around it is by writing my post without the URL and then adding it in before publishing. Another is by using iA Writer but that's the paid version of the work-around (I think it is more than worth the cost but just wanted to note the fact that it is paid).

@ohBananaJoe Manton has previously mentioned that he's working on it and I don't believe he did something poorly on purpose, Dominik, it's just that software is difficult as I am sure you are aware.

Hopefully this will be fixed sooner rather than later, since other than this particular bug I enjoy using the web editor quite a lot.
