@rcrackley Couldn't agree more with this in general. The web has never been an appropriate medium for such conversations — it barely works well for the easier topics of discussion — and I can't think of a worse way to work through any issue than to rely on the house of cards that we so laughably refer to as "information technology".

This is why, even for anything that I am happy to disclose in public, I am actively looking for and attempting to create semi-private spaces on the web in which it is relatively easy to maintain a closed circle of trusted people. In that I think good conversations could be had and I still wouldn't be as forthcoming as in the real world.
