It went hand-in-hand with Blair's real vision; convincing working class people that their children definitely should go to university without any of the necessary resources at pre-university stage. A-Levels were a fucking mess and at the same time many traditional Labour areas were fucked over in other ways.

If you're genuinely interested in not seeing the country lurch into right-wing monoculture, we have to start somehow. Progressives need to become much more pragmatic than I have ever known in my lifetime, and judging by what I've seen on the web I don't feel confident we have that in us.
