I think Lady Madonna is my favourite Beatles song. 🎶

When replies go missing in a Micro.blog conversation, I worry I’m hallucinating.

Too much of getting Mastodon and those similar platforms to work are “Welcome to my TED Talk” and not enough “Do this without hassle”.

That’s fine, so long as fans of those platforms aren’t lying about it being “simple” or “easy” or whatever.

Looks like Paramount is getting ready to be sold. Time to get used to Disney having both Star Wars and Star Trek.

It says “Micro.blog Help Centre”. Starting to think “+ Mastodon” should be put in there.

I am forever stopping myself from calling them podcats.

Currently listening to a 1 hour loop of the main theme from Shadow Of War. 🎶

It is soothing like a lofi ambient mix, whilst also lively enough that it helps me to settle into work, like a lighter version of Einaudi’s music (his work is my go-to for work).

Good grief, Bob Iger.

I think I’m Weird Online:

  • I don’t feel the need to catch up.
  • I don’t feel the desire to “debate for good”.
  • I don’t require Likes and Algorithms.
  • I don’t assume all technological advancements are good.
  • I don’t believe anyone has a right to tell others how to spend their time, especially online.

Missed the latest Analog Tools meetup, which appears to have been a lot of fun.

This is why, ironically, I need to keep working on properly establishing my planning, scheduling, and note-keeping system. Progress is steady, alongside improvements to the new place so I can’t wait for the next meetup.

Just saw an advert for “Your child’s personal AI tutor.”

Welp time to go jump off a cliff.

We are now into year eight of Micro.blog. Feels like a good time for certain weak spots to be corrected — the kind of behind-the-scenes upgrade that is not at all flashy and worth lots of attention but instead guarantees such stability that you basically never notice other people having problems.

Going on a purge of notifications. Thankfully I don’t have to do this often, however this feels like a particularly good year to reign things in tight.

This is a good way to remember that many of the inputs in life can be controlled, at least to enough of an extent to limit sudden impact.
